With 15,000 specimens, and 2,500 species of tree from all over the world, the arboretum plays a vital part in research and conservation, as well as being a stunningly beautiful place to visit and explore rare, interesting and beautiful plants from the furthest corners of the globe".

The CaniX event will be held in Silk Wood, Registration will be held at the CaniX trailer on the hard standing at the rear of the cafe.  There is a cafe and toilet availble near registration and further toillets at the entry barriers.  There is no camping on site for competitors.  Those wishing to volunteer for Marshal duties should contact dawn on dawn@canix.co.uk.

The course is a beautiful trail that works its way around Silk wood using a mixture of single track, trail and forest rides.  It will be marked and marshals will be on the course.  The Courses for Saturday and Sunday races will differ.  Please note that whilst you are welcome to walk the course, or enjoy Silk Wood with your dog outside of race time, you are not permitted to Cani-cross except for during the race.  You should also respect the Arboretum rules regarding control of dogs, and be aware of livestock grazing on the "downs" area. No bikes are allowed on site except for those that meet the Forestry Commission rules for this site (intended for use by small children only) more info regarding access here

Those running for the first time should note that whilst we do allow dogs to run on a handheld lead and collar the use of a running harness and line is preferred .   We do not allow dogs to run on haltis, flexi-leads, choke or half choke collars or stop-pull harnesses which restrict the breathing of the dog.  Please see the canix website for full rules and advice. www.canix.co.uk.
