The event takes place in the park and estate of Glamis Castle. Starting at the front of the castle the course heads up the 1km driveway before turning and plunging towards the Glamis Burn which it then follows back towards the castle before heading through the pinetum and passing the walled garden then terminating in at the rear of the castle. The 10KM (run Monday only) has the privilege of using areas of the estate not usually open to public access. This really is a special venue, chances of seeing wildlife and highland cattle are high! As such there is a strict ALL dogs on leads at ALL times (No matter how well behaved they are - this is a non-negotiable!!) Those staying on site MUST stay within the approved areas at all times, which gives ample space for dog walking.
Please note the biosecurity arrangments we have been asked to share by our venues across the UK. To prevent the spread of disease and invading species which threaten the flora and fauna of the woodlands all runners are asked to arrive with clean footwear and clothing, any cycles brought to the site should be clean before arrival. All Footwear, clothing and wheels should be cleaned before exiting the site, and before entering other areas of woodland.
